Polar bear conservation nonprofit Polar Bears International is currently tracking and filming polar bears near Churchill, Canada. The Arctic bears have gathered there to wait for sea ice to form at Hudson Bay, which will make it possible for them to hunt their favorite meal: seals.

PBI is monitoring polar bears across the Arctic, in part to determine the effects of climate change on animal behavior and physical condition, as well as population trends. One program has tracked polar bears fitted with GPS ear tags or collars that transmit locations to researchers to gain insight into the animals’ movements. York says, “Our understanding of polar bear biology, ecology and behavior is critical to long-term conservation and may aid on-the-ground efforts such as human-bear conflict management.”

However, being able to be part of saving the polar bears through our partnership with Polar Bears International in Canada really motivated us and pushed us to continue, and convinced us that this was the right move in starting Cloversoft.

Yukon-based Alysa McCall, Polar Bears International staff scientist and director of conservation outreach, is stationed in Churchill for the week living and working on a Tundra Buggy provided by Frontiers North Adventures.

“As the sea ice is declining in areas around the world, polar bears are spending more time on land like they are here in western Hudson Bay,” McCall said in a Zoom interview. “When polar bears spend more time on land, they get hungrier and are more likely to go searching for food where they shouldn’t — and that includes communities.”

On November 2019’s World Kindness Day, Upton announced her collaboration with Canada Goose to aid in polar bear conservation, writing in part, “It gives me great pleasure to work with Canada Goose and the Polar Bears International to secure a brighter future for Polar Bears.

There's no show. Just polar bears. Polar Bears International (PBI) and Explore.org have restarted their annual polar bear live cam for the season. The stream starts annually in late October and runs through mid-November, with an eye on having some great streams during Polar Bear Week from October 30 to November 5.

We have a day’s break in between bear-spotting to go dog-sledding and visit Polar Bears International House, an interpretative centre where we learn how to support the PBI’s conservation efforts.

“There could be a beluga whale carcass they might be able to find, (or a) naive seal near shore, but generally they’re just fasting. They lose nearly a kilogram of body weight every day that they’re on land,” said Geoff York, a biologist for Polar Bears International (PBI). An AFP team joined him on an expedition.

He worked on the Arctic Documentary Project with Polar Bears International.

One of the most recognisable parts of the brand’s packaging – besides the pretty green colour – is the polar bear, which represents their support of Polar Bears International.

"While these bears sit on shore, they're losing a kilo or two every day. That can go on for about 180 days before they really start to have a problem," says Geoff York, senior director of conservation at Polar Bears International (PBI).

On Wednesday evening, GU’s Center for Climate, Society, and the Environment hosted Steven C. Amstrup for a lecture on his research regarding the fate of polar bears amid the climate crisis.

Amstrup is a chief scientist for Polar Bears International, a non-profit conservation organization for polar bears. He has led research on polar bears for over 30 years and specializes in the cultivation of responsible ecological stewardship, as well as environmental activism.

According to Polar Bears International, the animal is considered a vulnerable species as of 2022. The reason for this Statius is due to sea ice loss from climate change. This is considered the single biggest threat to the species’ survival.

In collaboration with the film’s debut and The Walt Disney Company’s longstanding legacy of protecting wildlife and wild places, the Disney Conservation Fund is investing in solutions to support polar bear conservation with nonprofit organization, Polar Bears International (PBI).

“Working on behalf of the Arctic's [polar bear community is our priority, and we are beyond excited to continue pushing that important work forward with the support of Disney,: said Krista Wright, Executive Director, Polar Bears International. “There is always more work to do, and we are optimistic of the path ahead as we find new ways to help polar bears thrive today and tomorrow. We hope after viewing Polar Bear, people will be inspired to talk to their friends about the film, what they learned, and why polar bear conservation matters.”

The expedition, in collaboration with Polar Bears International, is supported by Inuit hunters who will assist the team and remain close by during the swim to keep away potential encounters with wildlife such as Greenland sharks and walruses.

Fast forward to 2022 and the eco-friendly company has been very busy. From closing a £5 million investment round back in February, to releasing one of the ads of the year (if not, in our opinion the century) in collaboration with the charity Polar Bears International.

Easily the most bizarre piece of advertising created by Wild is the incredibly entertaining polar bear ad (seen below), in partnership with Polar Bears International.

“At the same time, Polar Bears International told us the abnormally thick ice could wind up making the area one of the last habitats on earth where we will see polar bears,” Archer said.

The following morning, Frontiers North interpretive guides greet guests in their departure city, and accompany them on a charter flight to Churchill. The first full day of the tour is spent exploring the quaint and sometimes quirky town on the shores of Hudson Bay, eating local cuisine in a warm and welcoming restaurant, learning about the human and natural history of the area, and visiting the Polar Bears International House to learn more about the remarkable animals they have come to encounter.
